Poplar Grove 2001

The second campout I took the troop on was to Catoctin National Park (next to Cunningham Falls State Park), at a beautiful site called Poplar Grove. This site was made limited after Sept. 11 due to its proximity to Camp David.

 

Wiley, Anthony, and David are ready for Breakfast. Anthony is actually 11 years old, but since his uncle and cousins come to all the campouts and because he's bigger than most of us leaders, we let him come along also.

 

I'm told this is the only time Carlos actually cooks, but he's made eggs on every campout.

Michael Ramirez didn't make it to too many campouts, so we put him to work when we got the chance.

After breaking camp, we went on a little hike, complete with a few detours.

 

We conquered the Mountain.
